The Oregon Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Center (Oregon BEST) brings together Oregon's significant R&D strengths in the key emerging areas of renewable energy and green building products and services, with the goal of increasing research and accelerating public/private partnerships to transform that research into on-the-ground business opportunities and Oregon jobs. Oregon BEST partners include the Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, Portland State University, the University of Oregon, as well as numerous private businesses, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
By becoming a member of Oregon BEST, faculty can be eligible to apply for
proposal matching funding and will have the opportunity to collaborate with
other faculty from around the state and with industry professionals to seek out
opportunities to enhance research resources or new opportunities to apply
research efforts in real-world environments.
Oregon BEST is planning ways to share funding opportunities with faculty and will be
hosting actual and virtual forums to interact with other faculty and
industry on topics of interest.
Membership is open to faculty at Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State
University, Portland State University and University of Oregon whose research
interests/work includes renewable energy (including solar, biomass/biofuels,
wind, wave and geothermal) or green building/infrastructure (including building
materials, performance assessment, energy systems & efficiency and building
& community design). Oregon BEST is also interested in working with
researchers at national labs focused in these areas.
There is a full list of benefits of the Faculty Membership Program on the Oregon BEST
website.
