Sustainable Buildings

University of Oregon’s first buildings were created in the late nineteenth century and the newest are being built as you read this. UO buildings contribute to academics, research, student life, and the beauty of our campus. New buildings on campus are evaluated using the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system, in compliance with the UO’s Oregon Model for Sustainable Development in the Campus Plan. Since our first LEED building, the Lillis Complex, was erected in 2003, the university has added 1,749,124 square feet of LEED certified space.
